Today was such a wonderful day. In celebration of my sweet friend Debbie’s upcoming birthday, Debbie, Darla, Deborah and myself spent the day together . . . hitting a few garage sales as we went, we eventually landed at the Buggy Barn Quilt Show and Antique Sale in Reardan, Washington, a little wheat farming community about 35 minutes west of Spokane. Set in rolling wheat fields, the Buggy Barn started many years ago as a tiny quilt shop doing classes. While that still continues to this day, they have also grown into the host of a large quilt show and also several antique dealers and crafters. The quilts hung beautifully from old barns and out buildings, from worn white washed fencing and many more flapped happily in the breeze on clotheslines. It was a really hot day, nearing 3 digits, and staying inside the quilt shop and the barn full of antiques was hard to do for very long, but even in the heat, we managed to have a lot of fun.
