We did our first vintage show in the old grange a couple of miles from our farm in 2004. We did several shows in that old grange, as well as in a small farming town South of Spokane. In 2010 we moved the show to our 1898 farmstead, and began the first of what are now known as "Pickin' Shows." These vintage and artisan shows have grown rapidly. We now have now have 7 shows each year throughout the Northwest and are working on adding our eighth. We believe our shows have grown rapidly because we hand choose each of our vendors based on creativity, quality of products and great display. The vendors come from throughout the Western Half of the United states, from as far south as Arizona. We also work hard to make sure our shows are fun and inviting and to bring the feeling of the farm our original show had to all the shows . . . through great music, amazing vendors and great variety. We are a family oriented show and we carry those values into each of our shows. We love that we have customers of all ages and backgrounds that are brought together by a common love of vintage and artisan creations. In a world that is ever changing, it is nice to find commonality in something so simple as the joy of junking.
This coming year is exciting as our growth has created many changes. Our original "flagship" show, Pickin' on the Prairie™, moved from the farm to Joe Albi Stadium, a large football stadium in Northwest Spokane. While this move was bittersweet, because we love our farm setting, we knew we had outgrown our narrow country road and, out of respect to our neighbors we knew it was time to make this move. The new venue has been a great success and it gives us tons of parking and room to add many more quality vendors as the show continues in the years to come. Beginning with our August 2018 event, the show will now be called "Pickin' Spokane," since it is no longer held on a on a Prairie. We are excited to watch this show grow!
We also have added several other great shows over the last couple of years. This year's line up includes two shows in the Tri Cities, two shows in Post Falls, Idaho, a show in Boise, Idaho and another in nearby Nampa Idaho, as well as our show in Spokane. We will be adding an eighth show in a third state soon . . . stay tuned for an upcoming announcement on that!
