As a Christian woman, I am called to be Godly. Does being Godly, mean being perfect? I looked up the meaning of the word, “Godly” on the internet. It means “to have a reverence for God and a life of holiness”. The word reverence means “a respectful, submissive attitude of mind resulting in affection and esteem for the person to which it is directed”. The word holiness means “set apart”. So, basically, living a Godly life means living with respect and affection for God and to focus on setting our life apart from the things of the world that may draw us away from God. It doesn’t mean we will be perfect. Instead, it means we have a deep focus on the only one who is perfect . . . God. The focus is on Him and how we can serve Him. It has nothing to do with us. God asks for us to serve Him and love Him with all our hearts. God knows we are far from perfect . . . which is why He sent His son to die for our sins. If we were perfect, we wouldn’t have needed this. He just wants us to be willing vessels desiring to please Him. So stop worrying about falling short or becoming Mrs. Perfect. Instead focus on being God’s child and accepting His love, regardless of your shortcomings.
If on this blog I have portrayed my life as perfect or more than it really is, I apologize. I am just a wife and Mama plowing through life as best I know how. I am a work in progress and sometimes my progress is a bit slower thank I would like. My house is a mess, my laundry is behind, but more important, I am a Child of God. Life is good!
Tonight I just got home after setting up for our latest show, “Pickin’ Christmas”, which will take place at the Greyhound Event Center in Post Falls Idaho this coming weekend, December 3 and 4. We have the spots all marked off, the placement figured out for everything from decor to ticket booths . . . and my booth is done. I am pleased with how simple it came together and how nice I think it will display. But still tonight finds me anxious and stressed.
